Charges issued for two adults connected to Mitchell baseball team

Creative Commons

Two adults connected to the Mitchell Legion Baseball team now face charges in Pennington County for failure to report crimes.

The state alleges Luke Norden, 43, and Jeremy Borgan, 48, board members of the Mitchell Baseball Association, had knowledge of crimes that went unreported to law enforcement.

Norden is charged with two counts of failure to report abuse or neglect of a child and two counts of misprision of a felony. Borgan faces a single count of failure to report. An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday afternoon.

This comes after six members of the Mitchell Legion Baseball team were charged over an alleged sexual assault incident this summer. They each recently pleaded not guilty to those charges.

The case is being prosecuted in Pennington County because the alleged incident took place in Rapid City.
