Rapid City police said they have made an arrest in connection to a recent fatal hit-and-run crash.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old Rapid City man Tuesday, according to Community Relations Specialist Brendyn Medina.

Investigators said the suspect was behind the wheel of a pickup that fatally struck a 14-year-old girl while she crossed a street in the early morning hours of Oct. 14. The pickup drove away after the crash.

Police used witness testimony and surveillance footage to identify the pickup, Medina said. Officers tracked it down at a residence in southern Rapid City and arrested the alleged driver on a felony hit-and-run charge.
