Join us on Sunday April 7th at 2:00 PM at the Matthews Opera House for Writer's Night! This showcase of local creative writers and songwriters is our final phase of crowdfunding efforts towards opening an independent bookstore in Spearfish.
This event is a taste of what we hope to offer in our programming at the bookstore—we hope to offer a variety of writing workshops, book clubs, writing clubs, author talks, book signings, song circles, and other immersive, literary-oriented events.
What better way to elevate local talent and connect with the community than a fun event like this?!
Admission is $20 at the door (kids 12 and under are free)Raffle items (all book/literary-themed) and a cash bar will also be available.

Join us for this year's Books and More Sale April 14th-15th! Paperbacks will be 0.50¢ and hardcovers will be $1.00 - and there will be other treasures, too! The sale will be in the Fantle Building/Center for Western Studies, adjacent to the Mikkelsen Library. All proceeds will support the Augustana Library Associates programs. We are looking forward to seeing you there and helping you replenish your bookshelves!

Join us for an art event benefiting children’s art programs for the Museum of Visual Materials. Support the Museum’s mission of offering low-cost art classes and affordable craft kits for children and adults.
Enjoy beautiful artwork by local artists in the main hall as we celebrate the fantastic arts community in Sioux Falls. Visit our art classroom where we will have an array of art projects created by students who attended classes at the Museum of Visual Materials.Get your hands dirty by doing a make and take pinch pot.
Admission is free. All ages are welcome.Enjoy beers on tap, wine and delicious appetizers.All bar sales go toward continued support for education department at Museum of Visual Materials. Additional donations would be greatly appreciated.
The Museum offers free and low-cost art classes year-round to preschool and school-aged children, homeschooled families, daycares/schools, and adults in days services programs. The Museum also offers curbside craft kits for pickup as an affordable option to do at home or with a small group. Come learn more about our local Sioux Falls artists and the Museum’s art education program!
