Zonta Club of the Southern Black Hills is a member of Zonta international which has over a thousand clubs in 65 countries. We are a nonprofit club engaged and committed to working through leadership and service to address issues fundamental to the advancement of women. The Southern Black Hills Club has been in existence since 1997. Each year we hold an event to raise service dollars supporting organizations empowering women by awarding them service dollars for the continuance or expansion of their programs. This year we are featuring women artist which includes visual artist, Musicians and filmmakers. We will have films from 1-3:50 and Musicians from 4-10 PM and our Headliner Jami Lynn will perform at 8 pm. Join us.FILMS CAN BE VIEWED IN PERSON at the Custer Beacon 351 Washington street or online.

Cookies, Corks & Brews is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event benefiting Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons. This year’s event will be new to the Black Hills area and we are planning to host this event annually. Cookies, Corks, & Brews is an unforgettable adults-only evening filled with Girl Scout Cookie inspired original dessert creations from chefs at some of the area's favorite restaurant; plated hor d'oeuvres, paired wines & beers, & fabulous items & experiences to bid on during our live & silent auction will also round out the evening. A brief mission message highlighting some of our girl-led programming will also be a special feature of the evening.

Meadowlands is a unique event on Saturday, June 11, 2022 that pairs Music and entertainment with efforts to build community power and financial resources around issue of water, food and community - all critical issues facing South Dakota. Live music from 3 pm - 12 am with activities that include outdoor games, private beach, kayaks/canoes/paddleboards, walking path, camping opportunities and access to food and drink vendors.

The HALF MARATHON is a road race down beautiful Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway featuring limestone canyon walls blanketed with coniferous and deciduous trees along Spearfish Creek. Runners begin in Savoy at 7 AM and follow Highway 14A, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, to the Spearfish City Park. The 5K starts and end in the Spearfish City Park. Runners follow the road through the campground and connect with the bike path to the canyon parking lot, then head back down the scenic byway to reconnect with the bike path to end in the park. This event is an annual fundraiser, which benefits abused and neglected children through the Northern Hills Area CASA Program.
Black Hills Works, The Club for Boys, United Way of the Black Hills, and Youth & Family Services are partnering with the First Responders Institute to bring to you an exciting community event designed to raise funds for your favorite local charity and celebrate the work of our community first responders! In this Charity Relay Challenge, teams of 5 (youth, adult, and senior divisions), go head-to-head on a modified firefighter training obstacle course.
The cost is $125 per team (just $25 per team member) and every participant will receive a t-shirt and medal. Once registered, your team will be provided with a custom fundraising page that can be used to raise funds for your selected charity, while also letting your friends and family come to cheer you on. Your team sets the fundraising goal for your selected charity; any amount is appreciated!

The Walk to Defeat ALS is an opportunity to come together as a community to raise funds for research towards treatments and a cure for ALS, as well as for vital programs that serve the ALS community. Wherever you are and whatever your connection, we can rally as one on Walk Day! East to West and North to South, all communities big and small are touched by this disease. The strength of ALS support shines through on Walk Day as we come together to honor those affected by ALS and raise funds to advance research, care, and advocacy for the ALS community. Mountain Bike Race in the Black Hills This race is intended for beginner-intermediate riders to advanced riders. Enjoy Black Hills National Forest and help raise money for the Northern Hills CASA Program! This course is a 3 and 6 mile loop on mountain bike trails that consists of flowy single track and double track. Participants will complete as many laps as possible during a 3 hour or 6 hour time duration. The race can be completed as a team or by an individual.
