As cooler weather prevails outside, the South Dakota Art Museum has gathered a selection of works from the collections to keep you warm! We hope the art in Heated warms your body and transports your mind through bright colors, vibrating patterns, balmy landscapes and more.
Friends, throughout the South Dakota winter, we invite you to come in for a little heat. Envelope yourself in the art, enjoy the activities, and find your inner warmth and comfort.

Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space is a six-decade retrospective of Signe Stuart's works beginning in the early 1960's. Her approach to art making relies on experimentation with painting materials and forms, often breaking from the standard rectangle and concepts of framing. This exhibition features many of her paper pieces, sewn canvas works, scrolls and an installation.
Stuart was a visual art professor at SDSU for 22 years (1972-1994) and has lived and worked in diverse regions of the United States: East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Northern Plains and Southwest, residing now in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Benedictine Peace Center invites you to enter the silence and experience the rich liturgies of an in-person Triduum Retreat with the monastic community at Sacred Heart Monastery in Yankton. These sacred three days are the holiest days of the Church year when we celebrate the events embracing the central mystery of the Incarnation. The Benedictine Sisters invite you to join them in this extended time of quiet, prayerful silence, and the rich liturgical celebration of the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ. This Holy Week retreat begins at 4:00 p.m. on March 28, Holy Thursday, and ends with a festive noon dinner on Easter Sunday. Cost of the retreat is $275 and includes a 3-night stay in a single room with bath and meals. Space is limited.
