Murder & Mayhem Murder Mystery

Murder & Mayhem Murder Mystery
Help us solve a murder on the high seas, and do it while embracing your inner pirate. All are invited, but sign up if you want to play a character. Who knows, you may even be the killer!
What: A "murder" has happened (fictional, of course), and you're invited to come help us solve the mystery. Anyone who wants to play a character will get information about that character including clues that only he or she knows. The afternoon will be spent interacting with other characters (in character) in an effort to find out what everyone else knows. Anyone who prefers not to play a character is still welcome to come either as a pirate or not and see if you can guess the murderer.
How: This type of game is great for someone who likes to act, who likes to act up, or who just likes pirates or mysteries. It may seem intimidating to play a part, but there is no wrong way to do it. Anyone who signs up for a character gets the broad strokes about the character (check out the list of characters on the website). Once the event begins, each character gets an individual booklet. The first page includes more information about the character's behavior and suggestions for how to interact with some of the other characters. This covers round 1. Round 2 moves to the next page, where each character finds out things they know about other characters (and are happy to share with everyone else). Can you say motives!? The murderer finds out they did it, too. Round 3 unveils the methods and opportunities as each character gets even more clues they can expose (or hope to hide). The afternoon ends with everyone attempting to guess who did it.
Where: At Black Hills Aquatic Adventures, 402 E Fairmont Blvd, Ste B Rapid City, SD 57701
Why: We are a scuba dive shop and also have an interest in helping people with disabilities to learn to scuba dive. We have partnered with Dive Pirates Foundation, which helps fund adaptive divers. This event is free to attend and to participate, but we encourage free will donations in support of helping fund an adaptive diver's scuba dream.
