Postal service says modernization efforts won't impact local jobs

There will be no layoffs at the two East River facilities the USPS have tabbed for assessment.

That’s the message from USPS officials after South Dakota's Congressional delegation expressed concern about the potential reorganization of facilities in Sioux Falls and Huron.

The potential changes come as part of the nationwide “Delivering for America” plan.

In a statement, USPS representatives said the modernization efforts will have no impact on services delivered or careers in the state.
