Summit Carbon Solutions bumped the operational timeline of their carbon capture and sequestration pipeline back two years to 2026.

Summit officials cite regulatory delays to the stall in their plans. Those are the same concerns another major carbon pipeline company - Navigator CO2 – gave after recently cancelling their project.

Last month, both carbon capture pipeline projects were dealt a significant blow when the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission denied both companies' applications to build their pipelines in the state.

Summit said they are committed to moving forward with their original carbon capture project despite regulatory hurdles and landowner opposition.
