Hartford breaks ground on new wastewater treatment facility

City of Hartford

The city of Hartford broke ground on its new $23 million wastewater treatment facility Monday.

It replaces the current wastewater lagoon system built in 2002.

City officials say the new facility will have many benefits, including allowing for population growth and increased industrial capacity. It can also serve as a regional facility to help surrounding communities.

The treatment facility is scheduled to be complete in 2025.
