Andrea Brickey, Ph.D., is working to recruit the next generation of miners in South Dakota.
She’s doing that to head off a potential labor shortage in the industry. But she also wants to introduce young people to the wealth of opportunities and challenges available in the field she loves.
Dr. Brickey is a professor of mining engineering and management at South Dakota Mines.
