PUC approves Otter Tail Power's adjusted rates

SDPB

The Public Utilities Commission voted to approve a revised rate schedule for Otter Tail Power energy customers starting Sept. 1.

Otter Tail Power Company petitioned the PUC on the first of June to approve their Phase-In Rider rate. That’s a term for recovering cost the company spent on improvement projects.

Otter Tail Power recently added the Merricourt wind project and the Ashtabulla III wind and advanced gird project in North Dakota. They also started the Astoria natural gas project in South Dakota.

According to a memo from commission staff, the average residential customer will see a charge of $3.29 per month.
