Overall attendance at the 2023 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was down from recent years.
The Department of Transportation said they tallied 458,161 vehicles in the Sturgis area over the 10-day event. That’s down eight percent from the previous five-year average.
While officials haven’t given a reason behind the drop, weather is likely a factor. The Black Hills saw intermittent rain and storms throughout the rally.
The rally ran from Aug. 4-13.
