Governor Noem reveals the "Freedom Works Here" model car.

Gov. Kristi Noem announced her “Freedom Works Here” campaign is sponsoring a NASCAR stock car in a partnership with Live Fast Motorsports.

Noem said the car and its team will allow the campaign’s values to reach a large audience.

“This racing team is going to be racing for South Dakota small businesses who are trying to fill their workforce needs and meeting the needs of our business owners here to continue to grow, and to help those workers who really want the career of their dreams,” she said. “Because at the end of the day this campaign is about them, it’s about people.”

The car’s driver is BJ McLeod. In a press briefing Thursday in Sioux Falls, Noem read a statement on his race team’s behalf sharing their admiration for the campaign.

“Live Fast Motorsports is proud to welcome freedomworkshere.com as a partner for the 2023 NASCAR cup series races at Richmond raceway and Bristol motor speedway,” wrote co-owner Matt Tifft. “On behalf of Team Live Fast we want to thank everyone at Freedom Works Here for partnering with us this weekend at Richmond and then later this season at Bristol.”

A mock vehicle will be around the state for the next week to allow people a chance to preview the real stock car.
