South Dakota gas prices fell by 3.7 cents per gallon last week. The average is now $3.36 per gallon, according to a survey from GasBuddy, a gas price tracking company.

Prices are 10.5 cents lower than they were a month ago and are 74.6 cents lower than one year ago. Diesel prices have also fallen 4 cents and are now at $3.97 per gallon.

"With oil prices bouncing back over $70 per barrel after reaching as low as $66 in early May, we've seen gasoline prices move higher in some states, while others have continued to decline- the national average has seen little change as a result, but overall, gasoline prices continue to see significant relief from year ago levels," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

The national average is up 0.4 cents this week at $3.51 per gallon. This is 14.9 cents per gallon lower than last month and 95.6 cents lower than this time last year.

South Dakota's average gas price in May 2022 was $4.10 per gallon. The national average at that time was $4.46. These prices were the highest they had ever been in the last 10 years.
