Closures continue on one of South Dakota’s busiest streets.

State and local officials are working on major construction projects on 41st Street in Sioux Falls.

As part of the project, the state Department of Transportation is extending temporary, alternating closures at Gateway Boulevard, Terry Avenue and Cathy Avenue.

The closures will continue through May 27th.

In early May, construction crews will install temporary traffic lights at the intersection of Marion Road and 41st Street. Marion Road will close approximately 600 feet south of the intersection for one month starting in the mid-May, weather permitting.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling through the construction area, and to consider using alternate routes.
