South Dakota Retailers Association offering $1,000 to live and work in the state

South Dakota Retailers Association

A trade group is offering people from other states a one-time, $1,000 incentive to live and work in South Dakota.

The South Dakota Retailers Association launched the initiative to address the workforce shortage in retail, restaurant, hospitality, grocery, trades and other industries.

Nathan Sanderson is the executive director of the Retailers Association.

“We know that workforce is the number one issue facing businesses in South Dakota," he said. "As workers around the country look to South Dakota as a new place to call home, we hope this incentive will make our great state even more attractive.”

An employee must work at least 30 hours per week at a physical Retailers Association member-business in South Dakota to be eligible. Each business may apply for an incentive no more than twice per year.

Additional eligibility details are available at www.sdra.org.
