Travel South Dakota awards marketing funds to 19 events statewide

Travel South Dakota is providing $163,110 in grants to aid the state’s tourism industry.

In the second year of the Tourism Advertising Promotion, or TAP, grant program, 19 different events and venues across the state received support for marketing.

"From local events to large celebrations, South Dakota events of all kinds will be able to use these funds to celebrate the unique parts of our state," said James Hagen, Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism.

Recipients include:

Individual grants range from $1,000 to $10,000.

Ryan is the local host of "Morning Edition". Originally from Iowa, he first came to the Black Hills to study at SD Mines. After graduating in 2019, he was an educator in Arizona and North Dakota before returning to the Black Hills.
