Corn is a familiar sight across South Dakota. Usually we see it in the fields, piled high at the elevators or for sale on the corner from your local sweet corn grower.
From now until July 14 you can also see 32 ears of four-foot-tall glass corn at the South Dakota Art Museum.
The exhibit, "Primordial Shift," explores Mick Meilahn's investigation into crop production, genetic food modification and the ancient history of corn.
Meilahn is a nationally known glass artist and Wisconsin farmer.
He joins "In the Moment" for a conversation on how agriculture allows him to cultivate his create hobbies and ponder the relationship between produce and society.
An artist reception with Meilahn will take place Thursday, June 27 from 5-7 p.m. at the South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings.
