The State Fair and South Dakota Hall-of-Famer Sherwin Linton are opening the application window to be featured as part of this year’s entertainment on the Centennial Stage.

For more than 30 years, South Dakota native Sherwin Linton, his wife Pam, and their band "The Cotton Kings" have performed on the free stage, welcoming other musicians.

“We are very proud of all those who have joined us as guests and have continued bringing the joy of music to people across the country,” said Linton.

The fair kicks off a day early this year on Wednesday, Aug. 28 and runs through Monday, Sep. 2.

Applications to perform on the Centennial Stage are due by May 15. Those interested, should submit their name, contact information, a resume or description of talent by email to candi.briley@state.sd.us.
