Quantifying the economic benefits of the arts

The Arts and Economic Prosperity 6 study was recently released for South Dakota. So, how much of an impact do nonprofit arts organizations have on our communities?

The study tallied up these organizations' impacts at $363 million. And they support more than 6,000 jobs.

We discuss what the arts bring to our economy with local and national experts.

Kellen Boice is executive director of the Sioux Falls Arts Council, and Jacqui Dietrich is executive director of the Rapid City Arts Council.

Randy Cohen is vice president of research at Americans for the Arts, which publishes the national economic impact study.
