Planes of all kinds will take to the skies this weekend over Sioux Falls as the Power on the Prairie Airshow returns.

The United States Air Force Demonstration Squadron, commonly called the Thunderbirds, are headlining the show.

The two-day event takes place at Joe Foss Field in Sioux Falls.

Admission to the field is free. The event includes over 30 aerial displays based on the ground and 13 flight performance groups.

The South Dakota Air National Guard sponsors and hosts the event planned by an airshow committee made up of volunteers. The committee urges prospective attendees to visit the webpage to access safety and etiquette information. The website also includes parking and shuttle information.

Doors to the Joe Foss Field open at 8:30 am both July 29 and July 30.
