Johnson announces student winners of Congressional Art Competition

Rep. Dusty Johnson has announced South Dakota's winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition.

Charlee Kolb is a junior at Jefferson High School. Her art teacher is Brittany Carmany.

Kolb’s self-portrait, “I’ve Been Here Before,” will be on display in the U.S. Capitol alongside the winning artwork from other congressional districts for the next year.

Rachel Ziegeldorf, a sophomore at Mitchell High School, was awarded second place. Her art teacher is Marica Shannon.

Ziegeldorf's piece, “Blotsma,” will be displayed in Rep. Johnson’s Washington, D.C. office for the next year.
