This interview is from SDPB's daily public-affairs show, In the Moment, hosted by Lori Walsh.

In 1962, Mary Woster was a South Dakota teenager trying to figure out how she saw the world. When a transgender person shot and killed a man to protect lost love, the streets of Chamberlain became awash in scandal, confusion, grief, and guilt. Mary Woster Haug's latest book is called Out of Loneliness: Murder and Memoir. We talk with the author about revisiting a murder trial in print.
