SDPB's Richard Two Bulls first met Donovin Sprague when Sprague worked at Crazy Horse Memorial. Two Bulls would also see photos of his own family in one of Sprague's books. Sprague is the author of 10 books about the history of tribes and tribal leadership.
Two Bulls and Sprague sat down to talk about that history and how literature and storytelling can connect Native and non-Native people. The two men also discussed the impactful writing of Vine Deloria Jr, the repatriation of remains from the Carlisle Indian School, and the power of storytelling and education.
