In The Moment … June 26, 2020 Show 847 Hour 1

It's been an interesting and, really, an inspirational week as we've been meeting the new  2020 Bush Fellows. Five of the new Fellows are from South Dakota and today we get to meet Amanda Carlow.

A member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, Amanda is leading the move to revitalize the Lakota language. For example, she uses the language while coaching youth basketball and through a Lakota language immersion track at the Pine Ridge School.

It's really just the beginning for this new Bush Fellow who is working on a Ph.D. which will enhance her skills to preserve and proliferate Indigenous language and culture.
