In 1938, Winona Lyon deeded nearly 50 acres of land to Minnehaha County to be used as fairground. The land known as the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds is home to the 80th Sioux Empire Fair which is underway through Saturday.
Fair-goers are taking in concessions, grandstand entertainment, Old McDonald's Farm, and much more.
