The Brown Bag Book Club welcomes authors Ruby Wilson and Phyllis Cole-Dai. Today we talk about the Poetry of Presence. The two authors edited an anthology of mindfulness poems, gathering the works of literary greats like Mary Oliver and Billy Collins, Wendell Berry and Joy Harjo.
We talk about how poetry fits into a mindfulness practice and how poems can be good medicine.
We also talk about Phyllis Cole-Dai's novel of the 1862 U.S. - Dakota War. It's called "Beneath the Same Stars," and it searches through the true stories of history for insight into the human heart.
