Mat D And The Profane Saints

Enjoy a scorching set from Mat D and the Profane Saints this week on No Cover, No Minimum Radio.  The Sioux Empire club scene regulars headlined the second stage at JazzFest 2014 (presented by the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society) in Sioux Falls on July 18.  Mat D has only been playing acoustic guitar for about 12 years.  He was drawn to the instrument after seeing Bob Dylan in concert at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City in 2002.  Mat D's burly vocals are perfectly surrounded by the Profane Saints; Kurt Mullins (electric guitar), Jeff Deignan (drums) and Shawn Blomberg (bass guitar).  Together, they form a hard-charging freight train loaded to the max with Rockabilly, Honkytonk Country, Blues and Rock.  The latest CD from Mat D and the Profane Saints, "Holyoke," came out early this year.  Their next CD, "The Mercy Road," is half way to completion.
