Hadden Sayers

When you experience a Hadden Sayers concert its hard to believe that, at one point, he walked away from his craft.  That's exactly what Sayers did after a series of setbacks that included losing his Uncle Rick, who collapsed and died after a show in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Frye was the band's drummer.

The Texas blues troubadour, Sayers, turned his attention to a broken down fishing shack in Southern Ohio and now proudly refers to it as a pivotal point in his life.  The two-year restoration project gave him the drive to return with the 2011 release "Hard Dollar."  The cd features the song "Back to the Blues," which was nominated for Song of the Year by the 2012 Blues Music Awards.

2013 will see Sayers release a new cd (February 26), "Rolling Soul," and a slate full of rollicking concerts all over the U.S.

On this edition of No Cover, No Minimum Radio, enjoy Sayers' January 19, 2013, concert from the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls presented by the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society as part of their 2012-2013 Concert Series.
