Lori Walsh of South Dakota Public Broadcasting is the winner of the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations' 2021 Distinguished Service Award for Media Personality.
Members of the association include hospitals, health care systems, nursing facilities, home health agencies, assisted living centers, and hospice organizations from around the state.
“What we appreciate about Lori is that she is only interested in the correct information – not flashy headlines or spin," said Paul Heinert, the manager of media relations for Sanford Health. "We always tell our doctors and leaders that doing an interview with Lori is the most useful 10-15 minutes of media they will do. She is a true professional, does her research about the healthcare topic and is respectful of our experts' time."
Over her past six years hosting "In the Moment" on SDPB, Walsh has interviewed more than 6,000 guests.
