Zach Zenner Scores Twice Against Dallas

Tim Heitman, USA TODAY Sports

South Dakota State Unversity alum and Detroit Lions running back Zach Zenner had his best statistical game in the National Football League on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys defeated the Lions 42-21, but Zenner took advantage of his playing time in the game.

Zach Zenner ran for 67-yards and two touchdowns in the loss to Dallas on Monday night. He also caught two passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford for 25-yards. Both receptions led to first downs.

To this point, Zenner hasn’t seen a lot of playing time in the NFL. But when given an opportunity to play on Monday Night Football, he seized it with pride.

“Always going out and trying to do the best that I can," says Zenner. "And that’s what I tried to do today, full effort every play, and try to perform at the best of my ability.”

Zenner says he’ll continue to work hard in preparing for each opportunity that may come along.

Next up for Zenner and the Lions is a Sunday Night Football match up against the Green Bay Packers. The winner of that game claims the NFC North division championship, which will guarantee a home playoff game for the victor.
