Gullah comes from West African language. Translation: a people blessed by God. RankyTanky's loose translation is "work it" or "get funky!" It's in this spirit that the Charleston, South Carolina based quintet Ranky Tanky performs timeless music of Gullah culture born in the southeastern sea island region of the United States.
