To celebrate the launch of the Potluck Society and the return of the sun to the prairie skies, we wanted to give you just a little bit extra this week. In this brief bonus episode, we introduce you to South Dakota's first Poet Laureate, Badger Clark. Though celebrated in his home state, he was virtually unknown beyond its borders. In fact, his most well-known poem, A Cowboy's Prayer, was often published under the byline, "Author Unknown." We hope you'll enjoy Hugh's sincere attempt at reading a couple of his favorite poems from Badger's collection, Sun and Saddle Leather. Thanks again, and see you soon!
