The third annual research symposium for Cheyenne River kicks off this week with a host of featured speakers that dive into topics such as genomics, ethics in research, and the potential of Lakota philosophy to protect our world. We’re joined by Joe Yracheta and Guthrie Ducheneaux  of Missouri Breaks Industries Research for a conversation about data, education, and the urgency of the symposium.

Rick Mills is curator of the South Dakota State Railroad Museum in Hill City. He presents "Yesterday and Today: Railroading in the Land of Infinite Variety" tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the historic 1906 Fort Pierre Depot Museum. We talk mythology, economics, and the cultural impact of rail in the state.
