Mines Medal Awarded to Dr. Diana Wall

The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is about to award it’s 2012 “Mines Medal.”  This year’s award goes to an expert on soil ecology and the impacts of climate change.

Dr. Diana Wall is the director of the Colorado State University School of Global Environmental Sustainability.  Her research includes a look at tiny bugs that live in soil everywhere from Africa to Antarctica.  Her work highlights the importance of soil sustainability against the backdrop of climate change and other challenges.

SDPB’s Charles Michael Ray has today’s Dakota Digest looking at some of Dr. Wall’s work.

The award ceremonyfor Dr. Diana Wall is taking place at the South Dakota School of Mines on Thursday the 27th.

Dr. Wall is also a featured guest on today’s Dakota Middayat noon central eleven mountain.   She was also featured on NPR's Science Friday.
