An Appropriations subcommittee has adopted initial budget numbers for the FY15 and FY16 budget.
The appropriations subcommittee has taken a conservative approach for both the 2015 and 2016 budgets. For fiscal year 2015 the committee adopted a budget of around 1.37 billion dollars. This constitutes a shortfall of around 7 million dollars from the Governor’s updated 2015 budget given last December. For fiscal year 2016 the committee adopted a budget of around 1.4 billion dollars. This is about 10 million dollars less than the Governor projected in his budget address. The full Joint Appropriations committee will discuss the subcommittee recommendations and will adopt final budget numbers Wednesday morning.
