50th Anniversary of Wilderness Act

This year marks the 50^th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act.  It took eight years and 66 revisions before President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Wilderness Act into law on September 3, 1964.   Laura Burns is a Supervisory Forester with the Hell Canyon Ranger District.  She is responsible for cultural resources, lands, recreation, and Wilderness.  Also David Miller with South Dakota Wild Grassland Coalition.  He’s a conservationist and lifelong advocate for wilderness and land protection.
